Worth It

On President's Day, Brett was wanting to camp out for the BYU vs. USU basketball game. I had previously groaned and whined saying it was too cold and I didn't want to. But as we were driving past the Marriott Center I finally say, "Okay, let's do it!"  In Brett's excitement and disbelief, we head straight to Outdoors Unlimited and rent a tent.  We set up the tent, run home to put on many layers of clothes, and grab all of our blankets in the house.

It was a low of 16 degress Fahrenheit that night, but we stayed warm by playing games, eating cookies, and most importantly, sleeping in our warm sleeping bags – courtesy of Kathy and Doug Mecham.

Here's why it was totally worth it.

1. Our tent was 5th in line.

2. My best friend Courtney came down with her cousin to watch the game with us.  It was her first live game since being back from the mission.  I love her a lot and I'm glad she's home.

3. Brett's best friend Tayler came too.

4. We were able to get third row seats right behind the basket: super great seats.

5. My best friend Sassy Cassi came as well.

6. After winning a free throw contest by making 7 throws in a row and then beating the 2nd place guy in a round of Horse, Brett got to fulfill his dreams of an attempt at the half court shot.  (I'm happy because now he can't be mean to everyone else who tries and fails.)

7. My beautiful sister came too and I got to sit in between two gorgeous red heads.

8. My balloon popped so I made a sweet headband.

9. We got on the Kiss Cam! My dream came true.

10. BYU won the game 70 to 68 with Craig Cusick's awesome shot.

It was a wonderful two nights: WORTH IT.
